The panel will include landlords, retailers, and brokers who will all provide their own perspective of how to prosper during the economic slowdown.
Doug LePatourel, Vice President, and Nhi Denis, Senior Associate, from the Colliers Retail Division will provide us an up to date retail market overview of the lower mainland, highlighting retail projects under development, and discussing the fundamentals driving the local retail sector.
Providing a landlords perspective on the panel Willa Jamieson, Director of Retail Leasing, and Kal Sandu, Director of Leasing in Western Canada, will share with us how Morguard is handling the slowdown. Willa and Kal will discuss the progress of the Uptown shopping centre construction in Victoria; Uptown is the largest shopping centre under construction in western Canada, and the first LEED designated shopping centre in Canada. They will also discuss how the economic slowdown has impacted their leasing deals.
The panel will also be joined by Patti Parente, the Director of Shopping Centre development for A&W. Patti will be discussing her company's growth strategy, and how they are responding to the economic slowdown.
