"A Day in the Mall"

The BCSCA  is pleased to launch an exciting new student work experience placement program entitled  “A Day in the Mall”.  This program expands upon our BCSCA Student Scholarship Awards and is intended to provide post-secondary students with an opportunity to explore the shopping industry’s retail environment and what goes on behind-the-scene.

For this program BCSCA is providing annual grants of $150.00 to cover a one-day program, of which $90.00 is allocated for the student’s transportation/food costs and $60.00 is allocated for the student to attend future BCSCA speaker luncheons events.

BCSCA’s “A Day in the Mall” program benefits include providing student participants with practical applicable experience; while allowing participating shopping centers to raise the profile of the retail shopping industry and attract potential future talent for the industry.  Additionally, this unique program aims to encourage various education institutions to enrich their post secondary educational programs by including the shopping center profession as a career option; thus providing a connection with a potential resource for future employees.

This is a chance to get your shopping center involved in a one-day placement program from September 2012 to December 2012.
